Shakira ‘mimics Taylor Swift’ as dating rumours swirl over former NFL hunk Julian Edelman…who’s the same age as ex Pique

SWIRLING rumours suggest Colombian singer Shakira is dating ex-NFL player Julian Edelman following her bitter split from Gerard Pique.
It comes as sports and celebrity fans across the world continue to go wild for another pop and NFL star duo: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

Speculation has risen since Shakira posted a series of photos from her 47th birthday celebration over the weekend, one of which featured American former football player Julian Edelman.
In the black and white photo, Edelman, 37, and the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer were seen standing side by side with their arms around each other, smiling at the camera.
Fans of both Shakira and Edelman are now curious whether this image suggests a romantic involvement between the two.
Edelman, a three-time Super Bowl winner, retired in April 2021 after 12 seasons with the New England Patriots. He has a seven-year-old daughter.
During an episode of Mythical Kitchen’s Last Meals, the ex-NFL player revealed his admiration for Taylor Swift and how she allegedly contributed to “making the league bigger” by dating Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.
Coincidentally, Edelman is the same age as Shakira’s former Spanish footballer ex, Gerard Pique. Shakira and Pique, who have two children together, announced their separation in June 2022 after over 11 years together.
Their split has seen its share of ups and downs, with Shakira subtly addressing Pique in her songs as Pique embarked on a new relationship with 25-year-old girlfriend Clara Chia Marti, which he made public online.
The pop star spoke openly to media outlets and through her music about the pain she felt during the breakup and after, as she watched Pique move on.
Pique spoke for the first time since their split in March 2023 to say that he was trying to do “what’s best for their kids” amid the drama.
In June last year, a source revealed Shakira was seeing someone new: Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, 39.
The pair were spotted hanging out at the F1 Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona, Spain and at the 2023 Grand Prix in Miami.
Hollywood icon Tom Cruise, aged 61, was reportedly vying for Shakira’s affection, even going as far as sending her flowers after flirting with her at the Grand Prix. However, the pop icon reportedly turned down Cruise’s advances, dealing a blow to his ego, according to a source cited by Radar Online.
In June of last year, Shakira claimed to have discovered that Pique had “betrayed” her while her father was in the ICU. Allegations surfaced that he had been unfaithful to Shakira on multiple occasions, including with his current girlfriend, Clara.
The singer revealed in September that she had believed in “’til death do us part’” during her time with Pique.
She told Billboard: “My priority was my home, my family.
“I believed in ’til death do us part.’ I believed that dream.
“My parents have been together, I don’t know, 50 years, and they love each other like the first day, with a love that’s unique and unrepeatable. So I know it’s possible.”
She added: “It’s what I wanted for myself and my children, but it didn’t happen.”
