Demi Moore urges families of dementia patients to ‘let go’ as ex Bruce Willis battles disorder

Demi Moore urged families of dementia patients to be “present” after her ex-husband Bruce Willis was diagnosed with the brain disorder.

“I think the most important thing I could share is just to meet them where they’re at,” the actress told Andy Cohen during a recent SiriusXM Town Hall.

“When you let go of who they’ve been or who you think, or even who you would like them to be, you can then really stay in the present and take in the joy and the love that is present and there for all that they are –– not all that they’re not.”

Cohen praised Moore’s “beautiful” response while her “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans” co-stars lovingly listened on.

Moore, 61, shared the heartfelt message nearly two years after announcing that Willis, 68, had been diagnosed with aphasia and would be “stepping away” from his acting career.

“They’re all there all the time,” a source told Us Weekly in December 2023. “This experience has brought the whole family even closer together. No one knows how much time Bruce has left, so they’re soaking up every moment they get with him.”

Nearly a year later, his condition worsened to dementia.
Both Moore and Heming, 45, have shared photos over the last two years of Willis celebrating holidays with them and their five collective children.

The exes share daughters Rumer, 35, Scout, 32, and Tallulah, 29.

The “Mortal Thoughts” co-stars –– who were married from 1987 to 2000 –– also spend time with their granddaughter, Louetta Isley, to whom Rumer gave birth in April 2023.

Rumer recently revealed that her dad inspired her firstborn’s name since his “favorite singers are Lou = Louie Armstrong, Etta = Etta James, Isley = Isley Brothers.”

Willis wed Heming in 2009, and they have two daughters: Mabel, 11, and Evelyn, 9.

The couple celebrated their 16th anniversary last month, which Heming commemorated by sharing two sweet snaps of her husband kissing her on the cheek.

“16 years with this special man. My love and adoration for him only grows,” she captioned the post.
